Two different blind men, two different elephants. Oswald was on tap to steer the U.S. into war with Cuba and/or Russia. Except there are no photos of him anywhere anytime in Cuba. Had he been there his CIA sponsors would have made sure to have documentation stories and photos for later making their sales presentation for war. One of the fake Oswalds may have been dangled, but the guy shot by Ruby wasn't one of them. And, once LBJ had his apple pie he let his sponsors know the Vietnam part of the preparations would be OK, but he had no taste for war in Cuba or Russia. Too dangerous with the nuclear component only a year after the missile crisis.

How do we know that the Oswald these Soviet officials say they met with was the same Oswald arrested on 11/22?

The short answer: we don't.

That's what I thought.

That would seem to raise the "multiple Oswalds" issue.

It isn't an issue, it is a certainty. While the Hungarian Oswald was about to saunter off to his second city bus escape from a sham assassination (he thought), another Oswald ran down the hill to escape in a station wagon presumably for Ruth Paine's in Irving. Seen by Roger Craig and three other witnesses. This let him know his fellow musketeers in the CIA were taking good care of him. Not only was Roy Truly freeing him from Marrion Baker, but also the CIA was staging a fake escape so pursuers would chase him to Irving while he actually was getting an escape ride out of the Texas Theater in Oak Cliff (he thought). Another Oswald was seen in Carl Mather's PP4537 shortly after the DPD smuggled him out the rear of the Texas Theater, seen by mechanic T.F. White. Air Force Sergeant Robert Vinson saw him flown to New Mexico later in the afternoon on a CIA C-54 cargo transport. All while Hungarian Oswald was under wraps with the Dallas Police.
